Think & Be Me - How We Help Young People

WHAT WE DO

We  provide training and education focused on children and youth as well as those working with and caring for them to manage mental health and wellbeing.

We have a qualified team of teachers, counsellors and psychologists who create the TBMe resources, ensuring they are fun, child-friendly and practical, while fitting in the with the HPE NZ Curriculum.

Our TBMe online courses are a series of short fun videos based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques and strategies to help children and young people learn the techniques to take care of their mental health.  They address anxiety, fear, worry, anger and are age appropriate for children, tweens and teens.

Our team of trainers run workshops and professional development for teachers and those working with children and communities on topics like; Music and Emotions, Emotional Regulation in the Classroom and Behavioural Styles of both teachers and students.

OUR PROGRAM

Our TBMe program are aimed at children aged 5 to 12yrs. They can be used at home, in school, or counselling. Each course covers a different topic.

  • Managing Emotions (Be Cool)
  • Overcoming Anxiety (Be Brave)
  • Managing Anger (Be Calm)

Each course includes short fun, engaging video episodes teaching concepts of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in simple memorable language and analogies. The follow-up teachers' resources provide a way to practically use the strategies and learning, applying what they have learned.

Unit Plans and Lesson Guides connect the resources to the Health and Physical Education (HPE) achievement objectives in the NZ Curriculum.

The resource development team are continually creating new resources based on feedback from teachers and parents. That's why we'd love to hear from you! Feel free to contact us letting us know what you enjoyed, and what else you would like to see.

He taonga te hauora, he pikinga waiora. Pursue great health and wellbeing.
